What is better, the old school rubber hoses or the new fancy silicone hoses or is there really no difference?  

 
And if it matter's I'm talking about a 22 year old dodge/Cummins with green coolant.

daily driver? whatevers cheapest and readily available.

 
99 Dodge Ram, Cummins.  its pretty much just to tow the trailer to the sand box now....

 
For my own truck I buy factory OEM hoses.  factory rubber hoses are great quality. Silicone hose would be way over the top and imho not needed
