Last year was my wife's and I 15 year anniversary and we were supposed to do a big trip then, but as you all know COVID BS kept us from doing anything...and it was also my 50th birthday.
So, we postponed it and decided we'd go for our 16th.
9 days in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic...we stayed at Secrets, Cap Cana and I must say this was the best vacation we have ever been on.
Absolutely amazing. The weather, the food, the people, the seclusion, we felt very safe and it was totally private.
The sand was like powdered sugar.
We did all-inclusive and we are completely sold on that. It is so simple...all you have to do is show up!
Pics do not do this justice but I'll share anyways.
We did do one excursion. We took a catamaran to the Island of Soana and had lunch then played around in the water and snorkeled, but mostly hung out and had a few drinks.
The rest of the time we planted ourselves on the beach, had cocktails, got some sun (well my wife did, I stay covered up LOL) we did kayaking, and pretty much relaxed and decompressed.
We did meet some great people that we ended up hanging out with the last half of the trip.
I think we were the only ones from California and people were like WHOA, that's a long flight.
Actually, 2 flights.
:lmao:
Anyways...here's some pics in random order.
If you get a chance, I highly recommend it and check out Secrets. They are owned by Hyatt and this was probably the nicest resort we have ever stayed at.
Cheers.
