Had one of our ash trees die end of summer. Looking at installing maybe a ficus. Really don't want to dig the roots out of this hole myself and would rather hire someone. Anyone have a good tree guy in Phoenix I can trust. Would hope I would get a warranty on the tree as well. I have one guy that fixed our drip system that quoted me $1,200. But I asked him about a warranty and he never responded.

Just planted a ton of trees. Hope they grow to town.................get it? Peace

If you want it done right, you almost have to do it yourself. If you find a landscaper that will do it, let him know how you want it done and monitor it. Here in AZ, the soil is so hard you need to dig the hole twice as wide and twice as deep as the container the tree comes in. If you do a 24" box tree, you need a hole 48x48x48. The top can't grow until the roots start to spread out. If you dig a hole just large enough for the container size, the tree will remain stagnant for a few years before it starts to really grow. Learned this in my days working in a local nursery. The big local retailer that will plant them for you will dig a hole just big enough to drop it in the ground, they won't over size the hole.

I use Tomas Santiago with Verde Pro landscape. 602-323-7293

I had him do a complete redo of my back yard, including a small retaining wall and 4 palm trees.  He did offer a warranty on the trees, which was awesome because one died about 8 months later.  I still have him do the upkeep on the whole property.

He just trimmed my giant date palm tree out front last week
