So I am going to have tons and tons of cast iron engine scrap iron and other scrap laying around. Plus I need to dispose of a whole bunch of old wheels and tires, etc had a guy used a couple times but damn he was flaky. Doesn't respond for 2 days. Says he's coming doesn't show up. Took a load and didn't give me any money. Etc etc. Need a reliable guy if anyone knows someone.

How many of the shop guys got let go?  Maybe they'd be interested in it for a few bucks.

Our shop has never had good luck getting paid by the "bulk bin" type guys.

No money in iron.  They will need to pick up more precious metals to offset the fuel and labor of it all.  Not much money to be made in scrap unless its copper, aluminum, brass, battery cores etc.......

Closer you are to a port/harbor the better the money is.  Its all going overseas.

No one left here. All the guys moved on. One of the guys used to do the scrap and we split it. I realize there's not much money in it. My guy finally just texted me and said he had to use the $80 he owed me to fix his truck. I just wish he would communicate and let me know when he's going to be 3 days later than what he said. And I don't want a big company bringing a bin out to where I have to fill it. He has been doing all the loading so there's certainly some value to all of that. Plus he's hauling off old tires too. He took a whole bunch of old fuel tanks we had out back. So I guess I just need to suck it up buttercup.

Agree, not a lot of money with that type of metal, Its more of a convenience to get rid of scrap that is just junk.

Never asked for money from people who removed ours. They did the work, and we let them keep whatever they got for doing so and keeping me from having to deal with it.
