Anybody running a particle separator on their Sandrail? I've seen them on tons of side by sides but haven't seen any on a rail.

Pros? Cons? Not needed?

No help here but curious also. Would you have to do a custom setup so you don't choke your engine?

I run a Donaldson B080080, rated for 350hp for equipment in heavy dust environments. There’s larger for more horsepower.

It’s been 4 years since I installed it for my ~300hp turbo 4. Restriction meter hasn’t budged, internal last chance filter hasn’t changed color, and no dust in the intake. Has an internal spin type section to throw heavy shit back out.

Wife’s X3 was rocking the original filter for 2500 dune miles. Same story there. Replaced it because I was getting nervous about it.

In short: what’s the point?

Separator for engine air or helmet air or both???

engine the Donaldson XRB or PSD filters are pretty dang good without the need for the electronics
helmet either the KWT or S&B seam fine

i don't think they would be any benefit in the dunes with sand if it was a duel sport and you spent a lot of time in the desert dust i might be a option but i would just run one of the air filter housing in a canister. they are nice in a sxs just because it can become a pia to get the air filter out on some sxs after you add all your stuff
