One bad Pantera

My old neighbor in Alpine had/has one in a shed.  Next to like 20 old motorcycles.  He has a Polish Fighter Jet engine in his front yard.

Not to mention boats, tractors, quads, trucks....   everything was for sale and he wants drink beers all day.

I miss that place.

I remember running a Lube shop in my younger days. A Pantera pulled up like it was from outer space. It was way way clean and custom and I was afraid my stoner employees were gonna hurt that damn thing. I tried getting out of servicing it and told the client "hey, we don't have the oil filter for this thing" he laughed and said "it's just a Ford 460". I knew I was toast at that point. I asked "are you sure you want my guys touching this thing?" LOL he didn't care one bit. Turned out to be one of my most loyal customers and let us all up in and out of it plenty. My guys actually respected the special aspect of the car. I always sweat a few drops when they jumped in it to pull it in. Cool car!

I had a business associate who had one and he was a big guy at least 6’6” or possibly taller.  I asked him how he got into and out of his Pantera one day and he said “very carefully “.

On another occasion I drove my replica Shelby Cobra to a meeting with him and we sat in each other’s cars.  Afterwards he said that was easy compared to the Pantera. But I will admit that he looked way too big sitting in the Cobra.  Part of his head was above the windshield and roll bar. 

 
Chummin has a story about his cop Step-dad getting a Pantera for the night.  Can't recall if Chum got to drive it.
