Off-Road Miata adventures - GO!

I'll try to log some MIATA action for ya'll, basically the most fun and RESPECT GIVEN while off-roading. These Miata's steel the show from $100k rigs everywhere we go.
My buddie and his girl have built them from drifters to off-roaders. He's got less then $1500 in each lift and tires are the big expenses so far, plus maintenance and repairs on top of that.

Purple Miata is a NA model with 3" lift, MT tires and LSD - needs a lot of work still, mostly skid plates and more power plus the stuff we break like power steering last rock trip
Black Miata is a NB model with 2" block lift and still on drift tires - has better power and stock LSD but needs all the other work still

7000rpm clutch dumps on the dry lake beds for dust drifting

Dumont he got stuck a lot without the LSD, we'll see this next trip how much improved it is

Probably a dumb question.. are Miata's AWD..? I think you can probably modify any car that is AWD and have fun with it.

Negative RWD, 1.6 to 2.4 liters over time.

Wife had a 2006 NC model she met me in Glamis (when we had a beam car) once but we never off-roaded or duned it.

A friend has a Miata he picked up for $800.  That car just keeps running and running.  He has more in aftermarket parts than he does the purchase of the car.  He works for some company that makes a bunch of Miata stuff.
