Now that we are in AZ, I need to get my Dmax smagged to get new reg/plates.. Where to go?? I have some contraband on it but no programer.. Mostly intake and exhaust stuff.. EGR delete,PCV re-route, down and up pipes, larger exhaust, cold air intake.. We are in pinzl Co. Where is the best place to take it and get it done that isn't going to flag it? I have been told Pinal is pretty chill.. LEt me know if you have a recomendation. can text me at 559-804-0818

You don’t need emissions in Pinal county. Just go to DMV with your title and get new plates/registration

Which DMV is  that? Our address is SanTan Valley, but we are way on the north end & are actually closer to Queen Creek. There are DMV”s located  in Apache Junction, Florence, and Queen Creek near us. But I am pretty sure the Queen Creek one is in Maricopa.. Just want to go where I will have the best opportunity for no issues..

I’ve never had an issue, but I’d recommend the Florence one.

I'd go to a third party place to transfer the title and do registration.  Your address will determine if you need to actually emission it or not.  Emissions requirements are only in certain parts of a couple counties.

I live in Glendale.  Bus, Dmax, and all other vehicles that require emissions are registered to my buddies house address in Flag.  They do not require testing and its cheaper to register.  I just do it at the 3rd party place and let them know I want to register it to my "Vacation" home.

3rd party is the only way to go.

Vacation home in non-smog location would be best, but if you don't have a address to use you will have to get the snap test. If your already in a no smog location ( don't think you are) you won't have to get smog but you might have to do an inspection, depending on the inspector if you have removed obvious parts you might have to re-install no matter where you live.

It is not like California you have to go to a actual  State Emissions location for testing. They will look for obvious stuff that is missing for the snap test but until you go in your not going to know what they will see and what they won't.

The snap test is pretty easy, They have you put the truck in N and rev the engine from idle to red line or there about. You do it three times if you roll coal you fail. Remove your tuner or set to stock for best results.

The worst part is you have to go every year and do the same test.  My old 01 Dodge would pass as long as the tuner was removed without problem.

What they won't care about is exhaust's or air filters or if you have a tuner sitting on the front seat.  Seems like most of the time spent at the Emmisions station is them making sure the hood is latched and the VIN is correct.

As MWB said, the test easy super easy to pass at the tailpipe.  You just show them it will hit the limiter.  I can make my DMAX hit the limiter at about 1/4 throttle with no smoke.  I don't even bother to remove the tune.

Missing components is a different story.

Finally went and got it done.. Found out EVERY VEHICLE needs to go to a sate certified smog test site and get a Pass/ cert.. irregardless as to where you do your registration paperwork at. Went to the one in Apache Junction by the landfill.. Super friendly, fast, and no hassles.. Made sure I had a cat, and did the smoke/snap test. They didn’t even balk at egr delete either… but then again I did all the tubes in flat black ,& not flashy colors that were available. It actually looks OEM & like it belongs there. In and out in less than 10 mins..will get our temp plates this week.  :ty:

While the testing is state run, whether or not you have to do it at all must be based on your address proximity to Phx/Tuscon metro areas then because we in the outlying counties do not have to do any of that.
