Got a guy coming out with us this weekend, bike is registered, but not in california, I understand he needs a non resident ohv sticker.

Where is the easiest place to get one? Any idea on cost? Tried to Google it and got mixed results as to where he can get one. I figured someone here will know...

TIA

Ranger Station on Gecko Road / 30 bucks

If coming from Az on I-8 Sidewinder Chevron has all passes and permits.

I wonder if the laws have changed for me. I haven't looked into it or been checked in almost 20 years. Used to be my Colorado ohv stickers were valid in Glamis.

I believe you are now required to get the Ca. non resident ohv permit. $ 30.00 annually. Good Jan 1 to Dec 31.

@endobearFrom what I read, it depends if your home state honors the CA sticker; if so, you’re good to go, if not, then the non resident sticker comes into play.

These permits are just a money grab. More states will be doing this soon I bet. Utah already has.

I wonder how states can require these permits on federal land. $30 is not a big deal unless you have a full stable of toys you use, but it's irritating.

I know five years or so ago Colorado recognized California stickers.

I did find out the hard way that Utah and Colorado do not reciprocate each other's ohv registration as of about 10 years ago.

That will suck. We ride Utah, Colorado and California. 6-7 machines to register.

Sweet Marie's sells them also.

If you’re not sure, call the BLM in El Centro, 760-337-4400.
If they give you the run around, ask for Neil, he’s a straight shooter.
