The law requires all newly sold small-motor equipment primarily used for landscaping to be zero-emission — essentially to be battery-operated or plug-in — by that target date or as soon as the California Air Resources Board determined it is feasible. New portable gas-powered generators also must be zero-emission by 2028, which also could be delayed at the discretion of the state agency.

So did I, it was an old AF when I pushed it back in the 70's. Here is a nice new shinny edger. The ones I had to use where rusty and almost as old that the push mower. No wonder I have carpal tunnel.

 I have to be honest gas leafblowers are my biggest annoyance on this planet. All I hear all day long 6- 7 days a week from 7am to 6pm are leafblowers and smell 2stroke fumes all day.

I hate them !!

I will probably hate electric ones just as much becasue of the noise.

We have both at work.  Electric not QUITE as loud.  More high pitch.  If they don't make them as powerful as gas, they'll just run twice as long.
