Currently in escrow and moving from North Fontana to Rancho Cucamonga. Anyone used a moving company recently they really liked? Yelp had decent reviews but still unsure.

That's not a very far move, maybe rent a truck and get some guys or hire some labor.

5 years ago, I paid a moving company and they needed to store things for 4 weeks due to new house not ready.  They came and gave an estimate and determined how many trucks and containers they needed.............moving day, at the end of the day had no room for the Piano.  New owners moved in with our Piano in the living room for a couple of days, so the moving company could figure their chit out.  All worked out in the end though................just annoying.

I have heard great things about PODs, but it is my understanding you are doing all the lifting, screw that, i am too old

Last time i moved I went to Uhaul.com and they had a section to hire movers. Becuase i have an enclosed trailer i didnt need a truck. They showed up loaded my trailer then unloaded me at the new place. It was really fairly priced and ill use it again. Ive had a couple friends do the same since.

Hoping to move far away from Califorina in the next couple years.  I plan on getting rid of most my stuff.  Everything with weight and volume = $$$$ to move.  I'll buy more when I land.

Whoever you hire: be super careful.  Movers are full of last second fees and leverage their non-refundable deposit over you whenever possible.
there was a local story a few years ago about Mayflower doing that.  they are/were right here in Mira Mar & they were doing it a bunch to the military folks @ Miramar.  they would hold their stuff for ransom until they came up with $1500 or $2500 of "extra fee's", that were not disclosed @ the front end of the move..........  complete BS.......

Yep.  My parents moved to San Antonio and fell victim to these tactics.  I ended up having to strong arm them into honoring the deal as written.  Absolutely despicable.

just did this, my son had to move out of his college house and someone was taking his spot. got my 24' enclosed trailer, paid them 300.00 and they moved it all in there. washer dryer bed, fridge, all his crap. I fought with my wife over paying someone to do this and she said you will bitch about your back for weeks lol. it took them maybe an hour and a half, now he has 3 more months in minnesota so my trailers not usable until he figures out where he will be after that, but it was pretty quick and painless.
