Hey guys i have some 5.5 inch wide methods that i want to mount some 12 inch wide dezert masters. Can it be done?

It will have desert masters so i dont mind it digging. Do i need some special equipment to mount it?

It can be done. It is a pain and will take a few people and some longer beadlock bolts to get started.

I have 33x15 Stu’s on a 7” wheel, if you get some threaded rods that fit your beadlock bolt holes, and some nuts it make it pretty easy. Just run the nuts down on the threaded rods until the ring is close enough to thread the bolts in. I use four threaded rods.

Thank you guys so much for the advice guys. It makes perfect sense and i will do just that

I had a '76 Chevy PU oncst....it came w/5.5" wide rims. I ran 31/10.5-15s on them. They were a squeeze. Once of the deals to look for is the height above the rim. If you have more sidewall than those 31" tire, things could work in your favor. My tread area was not distorted.

I'm not sure that I could have run a wider tire.

I suppose you could air them down to have a better footprint?

I'm not sure that changed. I'd let them down to about 12 in the front and 10 in the rear. that was bulging fairly good. I don't remember what the footprint looked like length wise (that is where you gain the most....you gain very little footprint width wise)
