So with us closing the shop and in the near future selling the property I need to relocate my motorhome. I am fortunate to get a space from a family member in Desert Hills AZ. My concern is critters getting into the coach. Wiring etc. This will be parked outside in the back on an acre lot at around 17th ave and Joy Ranch. So what can be done to keep the critters at bay? I have heard some LED lights around the coach for night time? Critter baits of some sort? Thanks for any advice. Old pic of our coach.

So many wives tales on critter protection. Lighting, rodent bait stations outside, Fresh Cab packets, Bounce sheets, and the ever popular Irish Spring soap shavings. When I was in SAR I kept a posse truck at the house, and tried most of the above, but the pack rats got in there several times. In the end, I think it's the luck of the draw TBH.

If I had your kind of money, I would buy one of those storage condo's they are building in Glendale. Store Coach and other toy's in it. Value on them will only go up.

I lose sleep over this!!! I brought my enclosed trailer to Prescott but not my moho! I have neighbors that have trailers and moho's outside in the open, I need to knock on some doors and find out what they do if anything. Buddy 5 min up the road had a packrat in his truck. He put a small strobe under the hood and the rat made a nest right next to it! Then he got the strobe and chirp combo and that has seemed to work better, he did kill that rat and so far no more have gotten in.

I will be taking the moho out there and plan to put lights on a timer under it and a couple of the chirp boxes.

I've been a realtor for 31 years and have never sold one of those units. I have looked at them on MLS.

We leave ours on the mountain during the summer. Mice were horrible this year. Tried the moth balls, soap, repellent, etc. We had the regular traps and sticky traps and would catch 5-6 between visits inside. What I found that worked from keeping them from getting inside is packing steel wool around the plumbing openings and sealing the holes where wiring goes through with silicone. By the end of the summer, we were successful at keeping them out. Don't know what to tell you about the engine/drive train.

I leave the toy hauler up north all summer and have had good luck with solar string lights on the ground, around the perimeter of the trailer…..
I also never leave any food at all inside.
Knock on wood.

I'm 2 blocks down the street from there and can attest the mice and pack rats are diabolical. I've had so many issues with rodents over the years.
I've researched and tried everything. The only success I have had is with LED string lights. Make it day light under that coach, and a string in the engine bay.
Home Depot has them for $10 that string together. I wouldn't go solar powered, if possible, plugin style is brighter and more reliable.
Mine are on 24X7 365
Best advice is using every defense you can think of and inspect it often as possible.
