Looking for recommendation on mobile WiFi.  Will be using in Glamis and on road trips.

Hotspot to a phone is not my answer.  This needs to be pretty reliable.  I need to be able to access several websites at once and conduct video/web meetings.

I know Starlink works great and is bitchin...it's also priced pretty high and equipment/start up is stupid high.

Whatchu got?

Guy I camp with has starlink it’s nice and works great. He leaves it in basically all day and night as well.

I just bought starlink for our extended stay at Campland on the bay. Well, our spot is full of big trees and we don't get any service. So I canceled my service. That is one nice thing about Starlink, you can turn it off and on by the month.

Been using starlink for a year now.  Works in northern Az great!  Glamis too.

im currently at the North Rim of Grand Canyon in the trees.  Zero issues.  Wife is working remote.  We have an office setup for her with two screens and a dock for her laptop.  VPN and all the big security stuff still Bork just like at home or her office.

like others said it’s nice to pause and startup your service.  They also prorate it.  When you turn it on and it’s after your monthly set bill date they prorate for the remaining.   Ours was only $85 since we are almost halfway through hill cycle.

one thing to remember is to turn on your service before you leave a cell signal.  You cannot turn it back on without cell service.

another pita is if you don’t use it for a couple months it takes an hour plus to update and gets frustrating to turn it on and of and finally it gets signal.

we run our router 24/7 off a 1500watt inverter and two solar panels to power the fridge and router mainly.

Starlink, one and done. Now you can do pay as you go. Not other option works perfect allllllll the time.

zero issues 2 years in gmlamis and all over the US

i work from rv when I’m on vacation and kids stream separate TV’s Amazon music always on. It’s a no brained don’t waste your money on cell I’ve tried everything.

just my .02

But a $2500 equipment and startup fee?  Ouch!

I had a feeling this was the answer though.

Where the Eff are you going @Mac? Thought G was done this year.

No cellular network will give you what you're looking for out there, must be satellite.

We have pretty good luck with a AT&T hotspot on non holiday weekends.  Even holidays are usually good enough to stream tv most the time in Gordons
