This came from one of the "ladies @ church". Every time we had a church function, she would make her baked beans. JMHO, but these are the best baked beans I have ever had. and yes......... LOTS of bacon!! Most times we make them in the crock pot the afternoon/night before an event, & its awesome by the time the even comes around the next day.
Miss Carol’s baked beans:
1 Can Pork and Beans, 28 oz (Drained)
½ Onion, Chopped
¼ Cup, Molasses
¼ Cup, Ketchup
¼ Cup Brown sugar
1 tsp, Dry Mustard
Combine all ingredients in pot & simmer on low for 20 Minutes, stirring several times to avoid sticking. We normally put it all in a crock pot & cook it in there. It is normally in the pot for several hours, before serving & then you can just turn it down to simmer while your @ your party.
Cooked bacon can be added (& encouraged).
You can also bake these in the oven @ 350* for 30 Minutes. This method you do not have to stand there & stir.
Serves 4 or 5.
