See a lot of I lost, My friend lost, etc...

Click the "Share yore location" with some fellow duners in case you lose yore phone. Or just in case you get lost!  Just for the weekend in case you don't have family there with you.

Can and will this help?

Not a bad idea at all, just wonder how accurate it is after losing cell signal?  Certainly been times out in the valleys where signal drops, could get you in the region at least.

My buddy lost his phone out of his pocket on a trail ride to Crown King this past Spring.  Quick call to his wife and a screenshot of the phone location on the map made it easy to find. Lucky for him it was sitting in the middle of the road, screen side up - untouched. The entire group had managed to miss it with their tires.

I use that to make sure my buddies made it back to camp if we get separated.

My buddy, a fellow Android owner, lost his phone at Flagpole over Thanksgiving weekend.  He set the phone on his hood and when we loaded up he forgot about it until we were a few dunes away.  We doubled back and parked near our original spot to look around. We walked a 1/4 mile and some fellow duners on quads and bikes also helped but we never found it.  He was the third car in a pack of 5 so it was run over numerous times (us sandrail guys know how to stay in line).  My daughgter has a iPhone and gets a signal Flagpole (and sometimes Swingset) so we tried calling my buddies phone but it went straight to voicemail.

I get zero signal at Swing Set, Flagpole and Firefighter Flagpole, but I do get a signal at China Wall, Olds and the Ledge (but I'm done going to that chit show of an area).

He did have a work phone so he was able to call his wife at home and order a new phone.  Sucks to loose a phone, especially if you have videos and pics that were never downloaded, which was unfortunately the case with my buddy.

My son lost his phone on a night ride, they used find your Iphone and found it in the morning in the middle of the dunes.....freakin lucky.  I am an Andriod user as well, we have our entire family on "life 360 now", easy free app.  Even put older family memebers on it.

Yup, my phone backs up my pics to Google automatically.  I download from my phone to my external drive on my laptop a few times a week and on occasion delete pics from Google when it tells me I'm low on storage.

Ive lost a phone at olds twice.First time got back to camp noticed it gone raced back the 3 miles drive went to where i was at found it sticking halfway out of sand,Second time had it on lap got out of car where parked dropped it got to store noticed again headed back found it.not gonna explain the other 2 times at camp but found it too.

I need to just stop taking my phone when I dune.  Problem is I'm a InstaGram post brat when I'm in Glamis and post lots of videos and some pics.  Need to get an old phone for that.  If I loose my phone my business will suffer big time.

Amazon has some unique solutions to keep your phone secure while in the dunes. The fake beer belly bag and the man sack.
