Meyers manx 2.0

Steve McQueen was allowed to drive on the beach...

My dad had one day with a Porsche engine.  It was cool.
Not sure the cool factor is there with an electric motor.

I wonder what the range of the "150 mile" battery pack would be in the sand riding hard?  25 to 40 miles?

I have always wanted to build an EV platform buggy, but it is really expensive and the batteries just haven't advanced enough to make it worth while.

I had a great conversation with one of the engineers at the new Meyers Manx company at Big Bear. They had there new and improved body kit there for a vw platform. It was nice. From what I understand , they are really trying to go after a new market. Kind of targeting an upper class , more financially comfortable type of customer. I dont think they want to deal with the penny pinchers as much. Most VW or Manx enthusiasts have always been a little more frugal because VW was a cheaper platform that was easily made street legal.  Well the last few years have changed that.

Most of the guys that are converting old cars to electric and using parts from wrecked Tesla's. DON~~~

There were Meyers Manx says at two separate auctions at Car week in Monterey that I saw. One was at Gooding, with a VW. Estimated at 45-65k.  The second was at Monterey jet Center, is put on by whatever auction company Hagerty  owns. That one had a Corvair motor and they were looking for 75 effing nuts.  But a lot of rich people at car week so you never know. Seems more like fishing for a sucker.
