Looking for someone to strip the powder coat off my chassis, I'm looking to change some things around and I hate sanding powder coat off every time, I'd like to have it stripped and do what I need to do, then probably just paint it with steel it, or possibly re powder in the future when I'm confident I'm done messing with it.

So who have you guys used? And what did it cost?

Burn it off or chemical strip is the options outside of the sanding you speak of. Find the biggest powder coating place near you. They will have someone.

I just took some parts to a powder coater to strip, then I will fix the metal, then I take them back to have powder applied.....

They will do it

do you have pics, some paints can not be chemically removed nor burnt off, they need to be glass beaded,  we have the hammer tone chassis run $1400 to strip,

And Dom birthday last week it was late in the night we go a midget stripper in a hour,  it was $800 for the hour.

It's just standard gloss black powder coat.

And, um I'll take the number for the midget when you get a chance... for a friend.....

Whatever you do DO NOT let somebody  “BURN” it off with a propane torch it’s to uneven and very intense.

I work on burn off and powder coat ovens for a living. I used island coatings in El Monte they have the largest burn off oven in SoCal. 16ft long fit my chassis. 700 degrees for 4 hours. Then they sand blast it and it’s raw clean and ready for powder. I took it somewhere else to powder for a nice finish.

(Pics are after burn off)

I hauled it home for a little welding

This is exactly what I have had done on many cars - Big PC houses will do in house - many send the chassis out.  Never had any issues

Your location would be helpful.

Yea I guess so, I'm out by Ocotillo wells. But I figured I'd be driving it somewhere, inland empire, or San Diego are about equal distance
