we are going to a wedding up in Claremont (Which I know is not LA, but close enough...).  We will probably spend a few days up there and figured we would go visit a few things while we are up there.  This is a typical Saturday afternoon/evening wedding.

We will also be in Pasadena for a few hours visiting my wifes Aunt, so we thought Griffith Park/observatory or the Getty Museum.  Of those 2 options, which has more to see and do?

any other suggestions.  Ive lived in SD for a while now, but never really got up to LA to check any of the touristy stuff out.  Figured I might as well before we GTFO of Kalipornia...

I have wanted to go to the New Beverly Theater. Tarantino bought the place and kept it open. It is supposed to have the old movie theater feel to it.

Claremont has a cool old town style area "packing house" and surrounding area (first street). My daughter lives right next to Pasadena in Arcadia, Santa Anita Racetrack is a fun day, the LA Arboretum is also right there. Lots of good hikes in that area as well.

The Petersen Automotive Museum is located on Wilshire Boulevard along Museum Row in the Miracle Mile neighborhood of Los Angeles. One of the world's largest automotive museums, the Petersen Automotive Museum is a nonprofit organization specializing in automobile history and related educational programs. It was also the site of the drive-by shooting of rapper The Notorious B.I.G. on March 9, 1997.

Peterson Auto Museum is a good one.   If you go try to get the tour of the vault.

Kartek and McKenzie’s Performance are my favorite LA tourist destinations.

GREAT options folks, thanks!!!

If you want to go for a drive and you are in Pasadena, a drive up to Mt Wilson never sucks, especially on a clear day.

In the Claremont Village...

Sign up the wife for a massage at Mint Leaf Thai Massage, no its not a happy ending place, she will enjoy it. (909)399-0200

Eat Breakfast at Village Grill on Yale street, simple little American Breakfast dinner :usa:  good food and cheap. (909)626-8813

Have Diner at the Packing House, either Eureka or Gus's BBQ are pretty good and nice place to people watch, eat.

Bummed we are out of town this weekend. The Village is very nice and easy to walk around.

As to what to see in LA...that depends what your into

we might add another day & add this in as a time filler.  we like to hike/walk, so might add that in somewhere.  its also a long weekend, so we might add a day on the back side & do some more exploring.

I knew this was coming............  Im a boring old-ish conservative white guy, no funny business....  LOL.   And my spider man costume is out for repairs and Im not sure when it will be back, so I cant wear that in Hollyweird that weekend.....  LOL.

If you choose the Getty, it may take an hour or longer to get to the museum entrance from when you park. You can walk and get there faster than the shuttle but it is a hike. I'm not into art but I really enjoyed it and an afternoon wasn't enough time to get through the whole thing.

The hike up to Mr. Wilson is better, but a lot longer.  LOL!    Way back in the day I use to mountain bike ride up to Mr. Wilson.
