KUSI News/McKinnon Broadcasting.

RIP last independent and neutral news source in San Diego.
that is exactly what I thought.  they also own Fox5 San Diego, which makes me wonder how much consolidation they will be doing.  some of the anchors have already left KUSI.

I also wonder if they bought the 3 Texas stations he owns.

Nexstar Media Group

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Texas-based Nexstar Media Group, which already owns Fox5 in San Diego, announced Monday it will acquire KUSI-TV for $35 million

Oh, I got it backwards, they already got out of TX & the SD company is all that was left.

Wow, sad. I pulled the plug on cable and wasn't able to watch them anymore but I did notice some changing faces as of late. Isn't 35mil chump change? Damn.

Maybe not in an industry that is dying.  Kind of like the hot rod industry.  as much as us old guys dont want to admit it, hot rods & drag racing is circling the drain.  in 20 years there will be no sportsman anything...........

they did say something I thought was interesting then did not follow up on it @ all.  he mentioned the history of the Chanel & the obligation to the news & to their customers & the changing environment.  however............... did not say anything about where it is going & how it will look or what can be done to ensure that there are not a million cnn.com's out there that are nothing but propaganda machines.  Hell any more I cant even trust the titty pics that JD posts..............

I pulled the plug too, but you can get them over the air with an antenna.. Just a heads up.

That is how I get it.  I've never had cable TV.

I stream through my internet service.

Were do you get an antenna for a TV ? Not that I've looked but have not even seen one in many years
I bought a cheapo digital antenna off Amazon for I think it was like 15 bucks. It's a square flat mat about 12x16 in.

For about 20 years I had one of these that I got from a radio shck near us.  The metal tubes were held to the main body by plastic clips and the birds landing on 20 year old plastic would break them off... LOL

i tried one of those flat digital only antennas and it sucked.  It didn't last a week.

I bought this one and it's been up there for about 10 years.  It works just as well as the the first one I had.

All TV broadcast in CA is digital now.   Don't even worry about analog stuff.  Depending in where you are there is still a lot of broadcast TV.  One of my co-workers in corona got like 20 stations (and the sub stations.  6.1, 6.2, 6.3 etc).

I use a little tivo device that a buddy turned me on to. I don't use anything on the device except the one app that I'm subscribed to. The device is just necessary to put the app on it and for portability. Annual subscription is $120 per device (I have 4 now for the different TVs in the house). The app has 3 main categories (live TV, movies and series). It has literally every channel on the planet. The movie category right now has 77,xxx titles. I watched Oppenheimer and Barbie the week they came out at the theaters. There's a lot of crap on there too but every pay per view in real time and a lot of stored ppv if you want to rewatch. A ton of 24/7 channels by genre, actor, title, etc. I have a player on my phone that I can sign in on and watch that way. It's pretty crazy the amount of content. It's hard to just browse because there's so much.

Sounds like it might be an IPTV or a Kodi app? I just got back to reinstalling Kodi with a diggz build and I'm watching everything and loving the regular 24/7 cable Fox News that you can't get anywhere else besides being a cable subscriber or streaming subscriber. Kodi has come a long way since I last used it. If you use a real debrid account it works flawlessly, no buffering.

I have the IPTV app on my phone and two different apps on my devices at home. The current ones are twisted media (which is my buddy's app) and another one called thunder rolls but they're just connecting to IPTV and moviemate. I don't remember which is which.
