After spending the weekend in Glamis and talking to a lot of people about their radios, I realized a lot of people dont know that their radios actually have 3-4 different banks (Depending on when they were programmed) with plenty of channels that NO ONE else uses.
I wanted to share this Frequency list and what banks the frequencies are on so you & your group can find a more quite channel that everyone with a radio out there is using. If you have more questions about this, let me know!
PCI Frequency list!
This is also a great link to show you how to access the different banks of your Icom/Kenwood
Radio Guide
Also, your standard antenna is cut to length (152.000). If you find another channel you prefer, you can always recut the antenna, purchase a new Whip portion of your antenna if you need it longer or stop by the PCI booth and have them cut your antenna for you! Also, Check how you antenna is mounted. You want it mounted so the brass ring is touching bare metal, you may need to sand down any coating between the brass ring and the Coax post, for the best connection.
Antenna Cut Chart
If anyone would like me to touch on any additional tech checks you can do regarding your radio, its performance and/or issues please dont hesitate to reach out!
PCI Vendor Booth location and Schedule!
I worked Sales/Tech at PCI for many years and now work for @L.R.S. who is a dealer for PCI and would like to help anyone that has any questions
There is a handful of small adjustments that you can do, to get the best performance out of your communications!
