Jeep Patriot Trans issue

My sons GF has a 2014 Jeep Patriot (2x4, FWD, 4 Cyl, stick) with ~150K miles on it.  it appears that there has been some issues with the transmission.  We are in San Diego. 

[SIZE=10pt]Her car is going between being able to shift into certain gears and not being able to shift into those gears
For instance it was falling out of first yesterday and this morning it was not able to shift into first, third, or fifth (all the "up" gears)
It definitely behaves differently after it's heated up now that you mention it

Is there a "jeep guru" or a "drive train specialist" here in San Diego that I could goto?  I would rather they cry once & get it fixed correctly. 

He has not done a bunch of web searches, which I suggested to see if this is a common thing.

How about a trans/drivetrain place? 

is Jarvis still the goto for clutch/CV/1/2 shafts?  I have not had to use them in a million years.
