I’m not sure if there is already a thread on this, if so maybe someone can lead me in the right direction. I Have been working on the shifter on a new build sand car and have had a lot of trouble. I’ve got an older used jamar shifter that I’ve been fighting, I believe it needs new bushings. My question is does anyone have any experience with the newer billet jamar pro x shifter? Is it worth the upgrade? Shift smoother? Or am I better off putting new bushings in the old one. I plan to keep the car for a very long time and I want to get it right the first time and not later down the road.

I really liked mine. I know everyone on here likes the pro-am one better.

Upgrade. That shifter is really nice and I've installed a few in clients cars over the years. They've all been really happy with them.

I hadn’t considered the pro am. They are similar price range. What are peoples opinions?

I have used the Jmar and the Fortin, they look the same but they are not,  have had issues with the Jmar radial bearing, the bearing in the Fortin has never give me a issue, both work good but the Fortin has bolt patter on the bottom and on top like the Jmar,  The Proamm is smooth but dont love the reverse lock out, seems i have to use two hands sometime on the Proamm for reverse,

Installed a Pro Am last season and it has been flawless. I think there was one for sale on here recently.
