Jamar Brake Pad Shims

My CNC rears do this.

I don't have a fix, just saying.......

Play between caliper pistons and the brake pads can be caused by a few things. My first thought is your brake pad bolt might be too tight and not allowing the pads to float. Second thought is the rotor is bent, which would over open the piston and allow the brake pads to touch the caliper body. You will lose brakes if this is happening too.

I do not have experience Jamar setups, but had a similar pro-am setup on my 1600 car. The pistons would never get anywhere close to flush with the caliper body.

Spindle nut tight?

Rotor warped?

Calipers in good working condition?

Last solution: residual pressure valve?

Shims won’t do anything unless it isn’t centered. Something is knocking the piston back.

Nut is tight

Both Rotors are perfect

Calipers are perfect

Spoke with Mike at Kartek and he recommended adding a 4LB residual valve right off the Master to help.
