Does anyone have pictures of a Side Mount turbo setup on a J series? Trying to see if I can get away with not mounting it in the traditional style of on the back of the motor.

I saw that as well, but have not read much about those units and overall quality. I wonder if sand would be an issue with them?not a turbo I know, but some of the street guys use a side mounted supercharger for easier packaging in the engine bay

That was probably a header from API. They were very thin and prone to crack. I had one that had about 5 feet of various cracks welded up.

That’s exactly the style I am looking for. Going to contact Dave at hot head to build it for me.Back in 05 I hand built my headers and turbo setup for a VQ35DE Nissan. Remember it was a crap ton of work. But a lot of miles over 17 years and they have held up remarkably well. Just a couple tiny cracks at the collector I have repaired. Do it right the first time and it will last. (Pics before intercooler was added)

Those 3 bolt collectors finally started to warp over the years and I did weld in V band clamps. Not fun to be chasing your buddies and loose boost. That’s exactly the style I am looking for. Going to contact Dave at hot head to build it for me.
Thanks for posting that! Its exactly what I am looking for.J35 with single side mount turbo and intercooler. I think this set-up is a little low to the ground but hasn’t caused any problems.

With the WG flange only on one bank, looks like boost creep and cylinder balance issues to me.
