Working today.  Need to test run one of two engines for Long Beach Fire dept patrol vessel. Then wrap up a seakeeper repair and load it up for delivery.

Trying to avoid skin cancer in this heat. Started wearing a scarf like the might chEFF himself. Slappy Racing hat as well. Never been much of a hat guy. Good timing cause im going balder by the day. The way the bathroom light shines down really shows it. If you measured hairs per inch, like you measure teeth per inch, i would be a very aggressive wood cutting blade. Good for pruning branches. Im passed the wood with nails stage!!

(in reality if i did that joke again i would say i am indeed at wood with nails....with a rapid progression towards being a tree pruning blade)

 
Washed the truck put the car seats in for the grandsons. Going to pick them up and go to some kind of a arcade and then lunch or visa-versa depending on what the boss says.  Then it’s on like Donkey Kong when we get home. Getting the golf cart charged and Myles’s little quad charged also. So the backyard will never be the same again.

Gonna finally call a lock smith. .. been locked out of my own gym (in my house),.. can't find the key.. well today, no more excuses.. get it open and back to the gym!

House chores as usual. Paid off the legal aid place for the Divorce "I never wanted" so guess thats behind me. Trying to Figure out everything so I can get to Vets at Glamis or sell it all TBD we will see what the court papers say when they comeback.

 
What type of lock is the gym? Might be able to pick it. Buy a tool online and watch videos while it takes the day or 2 to show up. 

Bought my first lock picking set when i was a kid. I just like the mechanics behind it. Figure out how it worked.

The Lock PIcking Lawyer is fun to watch on youtube. Most his vids are under 2 mins. He talks about what he is feeling. Helps to understand the different techniques. 

For most locks there are little cheater tools. They kind of rattle the tumblers around and eventually they line up in the right spot and the lock opens. Doesnt require any special skills to use those types of lock picks. 

Some techniques are using a long piece of wire. Slide under the door and catch the handle. That only works if there is no dead bolt. My electrician boss taught me that one. We would show up to jobs and the door would be locked. Nobody coming until 9am and we were there early ready to rock.

You can crash in my trailer if you end up selling yours. We usually take out 2 trailers for vets. Laurie and the kids in her trailer and then im alone in mine. Its got the sofa bed and im up in the front bedroom. Probably wouldnt even hear you come and go.

Went out to Campo and blasted with the new KSG shotgun.  Badass piece!  Flawless.  Even "wiped" the wifes work hard drive.  Hillary Clinton style.

Gotta setup for my daughter's FFA event at the Ramona  Fair tomorrow.   Realizing this damn goat and her involvement is costing me about $1k.

I’ve been in Akron OH since last Saturday. We are here for the Soap Box World Championships. There are several different race events during the week, but today was the big race for the Championship. 

Unfortunately we got knocked out in the first round. Three cars race down the track and one moves on. It’s luck of the draw on your lane and who you race. The car that beat us, went on to finish in 3rd place out of 72 in our class. So we went up against tough competition in round one. The kid is second generation derby racers too.

Here is what losing by .004 of a second looks like. It’s not visible when they go by. We are the closest white car, with the winner in the middle lane, and third was the red car.

So .004 of a second ended our day. It’s crazy, but some kids lost to .001. 
 

This was our second trip back to Akron for the Championship. My daughter is a 3 time Local champ, but we could not come back last year. 

This place is no joke. It’s a permanent facility.

Tech inspections are serious and done multiple times during the week. You are weighed each time you run down the track.

Two cars went from the Alpine CA club. It cost us $3,000 to ship two cars round trip from San Diego to Akron OH this year. That’s double we paid before.

Finally put a winch and bumper on the jeep so we can flat tow it behind the Rv we are finally getting next week.
