last night I watched "the social dilemma" on Netflix.

I would strongly recommend that everyone watch this show.

Save for this Forum Im off all social media, and MUCH happier for it.  & for the record, Zuckerberg it a lying cheating POS.

Yes that is a good watch. Living in a 5G world is another good one.

That was an eye-opening documentary. While you're there, watch "the crime of the century" and you'll have a deeper understanding about what's going on with Pfizer and the drug companies. I'm not sure how anybody could trust them after watching it.

Squid Games was good, will have to watch 5G....already saw Social Dilemma.

Says something when the people that USED to work there won't let their kids have cell phones or go on social media

IMO, that says more than the rest of the show.  It's hard as ph.u.ck to do that dopamine is a hell of a drug....  anyone with kids know that....

belive it or not, Im probably the only person in CA that does not have cable TV.  I will see if I cant stream it from somewhere....

I'll look for it on HBO Max then....thanks @LegitDuner

Smartphone addiction is bad. We have a couple rules that help break it up from our kids becoming full on Crack-heads...

From 9pm to 7am - phones are at a designated spot, charging and turned off. No Usage, period.

No usage while on-campus at school, basically a text from us (Mom/Dad) is all you should be responding to.

Social Media alerts and notifications are silent, non-vibrate, no pop-ups on screen. A number will show at the AP Icon, that's enough, you can check it when you have time, yore not a heart surgeon on call...

When its family time like Dinner, we have visitors or we are at some event....we are engaged in that moment with people, not on the phones.

It's a struggle, but we have found a big difference in how our kids engage with others, can talk with adults and not be zoned out zombies like other teens we see all the time. Our kids didn't get phones until almost high-school...I can't imagine the kids who have been using them since elementary school.... :ng:

Smart phones are a privilege, not a right.

I have three kids, my youngest is now in her 2nd year of college, we had some rules in regards to electronics in our house.

1. no TV's in Bedrooms (all the streaming made this a bit harder, but my two boys didn't have that option)

2. All video consoles were in in the family room (no tv's in bedroom also stopped this), if they played, the entire family could be part of it.

3. No cell phones until they were 14 years old, except we broke down with our Daughter, it was 12 years old due to me wanting to know where she was at all times...

4. Still no Phones at the table when we eat...........we still eat every night as a family when the kids are home

Good to put boundaries on Electronics..................good stuff Crusty.
