If you buy the cable they give you the software. Double check this is the cable for your radio

I have programed over 50 radios never had a issue with any icom, just need to know what radio so the correct software can be used,
I program all 8 banks, make up my one radio channel and use the last bank for all emergency channels, like BLM, Surv-1 and Surv-2, also put in all the weather stations,
