This is the microwave in our condo...  it just died.

Its a wall mounted above the stove top with a vent kind of deal.  I wonder if a replacement is going to fit in that hole............ that was a long time ago. LOL.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to buy a new one in San Diego?  how about brands?

Size should be universal...then it becomes do you want a convection oven micro or just a micro.....

i have replaced probably 75 microwaves in properties over the years, and never had an issue with size/width. sometimes they are a little deeper or taller than normal, but width has been same.

1994...that's a good run!

28 years, these days you can't get anything to last 3-5 years!

28 years is awesome!  Bummer, you'll have to replace it every 5 years from now on.  Everything made these days is disposable.

My house was built in 1942.  My guest house had a ton of appliances in it when I bought the place that were original or at least from the 70's.  Washer, dryer, stove, microwave, water heater, etc.  I've had the house for 22 years.  In the last 10 years I've been replacing stuff that was at least 30 years old.  Washer, dryers and hot water heaters all replace more times in the last 10 years than in the previous 60 years.

This is truth right here.

IMHO find a used one that matches your existing kitchen best as it can, hell look one up on Offer Up or down the kitchen remodel rabbit hole you'll be falling.

Ask @Poule43

Modern stuff lasts longer than 5 years.  C'mon.  My current micro was installed in '08.  Still kicking.  It's replacement is in the garage, but only because the kitchen is being redone...
