Some People Just SUCK

:poule:

Yep, all A-Holes.  hope they take some nasty disease home with them............

I've been a few times (decades ago) and it wasn't like that at all.  Maybe the rain had something to do with it this year as a lot of peeps just walked away ?

What’s the guys name that built the sxs trash hauler picker upper thing? That guys cool!

Lame that anyone would leave trash behind, but the cleanup isn't done yet so not fair to knock them yet. Who knows when those vids were taken anyway? My guess is that they had to wait for the area to dry out before they could really get going.

“After exodus, the Burning Man team has three weeks where they grid out the entire event area and pick up all items and trash. They also run trucks with large rakes behind them to smooth out the bumps and ruts. In addition, they clean along the side of the county highways leading to and from the event," Henderson said.

During the first week of October, the agency will inspect the playa and go to random points to see if restoration is acceptable.

If the Black Rock Desert isn’t returned to its original natural state, both groups meet to discuss how Burning man is going to remedy the situation.

This is not the point people are making. Not talking about the organization being a POS. The common attendee who pays their fees and then thinks F it. I paid-they can clean up my mess.

Pretty sure that rain storm they had didn't help the situation out one bit.  Some of that though is just people being lazy

No way they return that to "acceptable"  BLM levels... ask King of the Hammers what they have to do..... NO permit should ever be issued again for such a gathering... if it were Off road related there is NO way it would ever get issued in the first place.

Which is why I said it was lame that anyone would leave trash behind.  Trash left behind after concerts, races, etc. unfortunately is common.

Whether you like the politics of the attendees or not, they do clean up after themselves. They pay a $750,000 permit fee, and BLM verifies the area is clean afterwards.

Burning Man has partnered with the land-management bureau for over 15 years for the use of five square miles of Black Rock-High Rock National Conservation Area, and the federal agency collects around $750,000 in permit fees in exchange.

As for the trash left behind, the Burning Man Project refers to this as MOOP, or "matter out of place." According to the Burning Man website, MOOP can be things like bicycles, furniture, art, trash, bottles, cans, cigarette butts, fireworks, glow sticks, bottle caps, wood and plastic debris.

The organization has a dedicated crew of volunteers called the Playa Restoration Team to carry out the entire cleanup.

After exodus—when Burners leave the site—the team has three weeks to plot the whole site out under a grid system. They then pick up trash, rake through the land with trucks to smooth out bumps and ruts and clean up along the highway near Black Rock City, according to Asselin.

The Burning Man Project also publishes an annual MOOP Map that displays where the highest density of MOOP is found in the camp area. Last year, tent stakes/lag bolts were the most serious MOOP offender with 1,023 recorded instances.

Ok, so it appears like the BM Organization goes thru ALLOT to clean up the place afterwards, thats respectable.

This just proves you can be privileged entitled socialites (white people) or low income laborers (brown people :crusty: ) all of which are just trying to let loose and party....

BUT PICK UP YOUR GODDAMN TRASH...
