It’s been awhile since I needed a new windshield, just got a quote of $2712 from BMW.
 Safelite is 1250.00

not sure I should go cheap on this or not.
197 mph car

looks line I need a 2nd job

pay to play with a car like that!

what's you insurance deductible?

Add Tesla's, range rovers etc to the list of expensive windshields

Just be careful with the AM ,  Make sure Safelite will be able to program the ADAS systems once it's in... they are better now, but we had some issues.  Does it have the rain sensors?  then they need the special urethane.....

Safelight scratched the sh!t out of a 2 week old paint job on my TBSS when replacing the rear glass.  They got to pay for the repaint, azzholes...

Is this like the 100k sandrail on a $1,500 trailer? 😆

Seriously tho, I feel your pain. I've been ignoring the crack on my Honda Pilot and it only goes 105mph lol comfortably.

No my trailer is a few dollars more than that

Yes it has the rain sensors, I’m very concerned about anybody but BMW doing it. Any of my other cars no issue. Parked it in back until I decide what to do

Comp claims are fine, have to pay your deductible, but they don't count as an at fault in CA, can't affect your rates... something hit it , your fine.

Yep, it’s been 25 years since I had a claim of any sort. Had to think and review it all

$250 deductible, the lowest comp deductible of all the cars I have.

maybe I’ll load it up on my $1700 trailer and take it to dealer

check with your insurance...they'll probably only pay for the Safelite prices... I know some of the cars Safelite can't reset...I think the last glass I did on a bmw was 3k with all the programing and stuff.

I would watch the install personally if you go SafeLite they used to be decent but the last few (3-4) installers have torn or incorrectly replaced the rubber around the window (windshield).

I have had 2 windshields replaced by Safelite in the last few years. I insisted on replacing it with OEM glass which my insurance covered. The first, a 2017 F350 went well. My wife's 2021 Acura did not go so well. They had to reinstall the windshield to get the bezel around the rear view mirror to fit correctly and we still had a piece of the bezel that would not snap in place. It took a few visits over a few months before they got it right.

I just remembered Safelite also replaced the windshield on my '03 Ranger too with no problems, but that truck has none of the electronics current cars do and I was ok with non-OEM glass on that.

Glass policy covered all 3 windshields. On a newer nice car I would not accept a non-OEM glass.

Call an Indy shop? That, or dealer. It’s a BMW, so half the cowl has to come apart and Safelite will definitely Eff it up. Ask me how I know. Nothing quite like a bunch of wind noise and water getting in when you wash it.
