High speed rail from LA to Vegas

We have to raise 6 transmission towers on the 15 and Dale Evans Pkwy for this.

This one at least sorta makes sense.

That ride back would suuuuuuuuck though. Hangover, train operator ON/OFF throttle, swaying on the desert floor… :vomit:

At first glance here were some thoughts:

"The project received $3 billion in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the rest will be privately funded, according to the company." ......I'm not a fan of giving taxpayer funds for privately owned for profit projects. Why does Solyndra come to mind?

"This 218-mile passenger rail service will operate from Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga, California, with 96% of its alignment within the median of the I-15 highway.".....Does this mean they are receiving a ton of free real estate along with the $3B?

Final thought....what's the big guys cut?

Get ready for it folks, they are going to take AWAY freeway lanes to make this possible.....They are idiots and have no basis in Reality.

Can't wait to get out of this shithole.

operational by 2028....no effing waaaaaay!
We've lost the ability to do anything quickly unless private corporations are heavily incentivized to get it done.  For example:

the only possibility this does not take 3 decades is that Vegas has money invested in this.  they want it done..........  skids are gonna get greased......

We have Yaaamamavavaa in beautiful San Bernardino 😍

Who needs dirty Vegas with all the day walker zombies all over these days...
