what's up guys so my kid is flying the coop so seeing what's out there outside Camp Pendleton fall brook area.i won't drag this out and get to the point.my sons wife...yes I said wife just got stationed out in Camp Pendleton marine corps base and just got word that she got housing faster then we thought.she gets the house on October 11th.so my son heading out within the next 2 to 3 weeks to go live out there.so we are trying to see what type of jobs and if any of you guys are hiring for or know somebody looking to hire.my son name is Kyle he's  20 years old drug free and goes to the gym maybe drink a few twisted teas on a Saturday night but that really it, no tattoos, clean Nj driver license and heading out with his own truck, he worked for tractor supply for about a year when he was 18 and also worked at out local Polaris, honda shop  and then left to come work for me and to learn a trade.i own a plumbing and utility company with 90% of my work being new ground up commercial from bringing the main sewer and water service into the building, fire hydrants, we do water service breaks and install the entire plumbing system inside the buildings.hes been running my excavators, skid steers, and loaders as a kid around our property for  years but now is the main guy in the excavator doing my trench work so probably  best on the excavator, his other interest are welding, climbing towers, he liked graphic arts in school so lettering or signs he may like maybe off road shop or fabrication.the marines have a job program for civilians on base but im seeing what else the area has to offer.he rides dirt bikes on his off time and is heading out with his 2 dirt bikes.if anyones is looking to hire or knows somebody in the area looking for help let me know please and we can exchange info so he can get in touch with them.

They have some good civilian jobs on the base, I know one of my operators got a job down there as a crane operator and he enjoys it. Also, the area (California)  is a hot spot for lineman and groundsmen at the moment with all the utility companies needing to upgrade existing and supply new infrastructure. If he's willing to work hard he will be working for good money in no time.

There is a good thread on RDP with members seeking lots ppl for different jobs, might find something there.

If he is keeping it on base it will be fine, in San Clemente or Oceanside he will need to keep it locked up tight and it will be difficult to find parking.

get a kill switch installed

Out here that 7.3 is worth a mint if in good condition. Good luck with the job search and tell her thank you for her service.

Tell him to go sign up at the local 12 operating engineers union. Apprentice pay is around 36-38 an hour right now. Full benefits, and retirement starts building as soon as you start. Apprenticeship lasts for 3 years, I think, then after that it's journeyman pay. It's like 56 an hour as of now, but will be higher in 3 years. If he is any good on an excavator, he will do fine. Pm me if you have questions about how it works.

Yep lots of military guys in Clemente. Im here now. Neighbors are saying Talega has been getting hit recently with home robberies. I got a 7.3 as well but mine is pretty beat up. Nice ones do get stolen. OrangeR told me years ago to install a kill switch. As mentioned above have your son look into one.

Not a bad place to get sent to when you are a Marine.   Sounds like they will be on the base, if so theft really isn't an issue.

As for riding, you can do day trips to Ocotillo, easy drive.  Other than that, Pala is the best track around, and that is even an easier drive.

I have a number of field tech (lots of travel) and assembly technician (no travel) positions available.  PM me for details.

thank you to all that have replied....whats the traffic like in that area?

I have been in Fallbrook almost 15 years now, great little town.  Its definitely not city living but it is not as small as it used to be.

If they can store his trailer no base do that, it will be safe.

Crime is not to bad, typical BS, just need to lock your stuff up and be smarter than the criminals.  I haven't had any issues.

I have an 7.3 SD and have never had any issues with people breaking in or theft.

I cant help with work but there is a tone of construction right now and a shortage of good help.  But with that said if the base can help with a job I would try that out.

They will be 15 minuets to the beach, 1 hour to the mountains/ snow, 2 hours to ocotillo wells ( endless Dirt bike riding ) and 3.5 hrs to Glamis.  Tell him to look into out of state registration for the dirt bikes, they are pretty strict on need it.

Send him over to the closest golf course lots of work and a possible career working outdoors.

I will hire him. Have a big job, heavy equipment, about 15 minutes away, right in the middle of fallbrook and the base off the 78 freeway. If he’s a good kid like you say I’ll start him out good. I have a great crew with a few young guys his age, he will fit in great.
PM me if you want to discuss.

thank you all   with the replays and giving us contacts and showing interest in helping him out.  hes  leaving this Saturday or Sunday the latest for the long drive across to Litchfield park AZ for a good relax and nights sleep at my wife sisters house.then out in the morning on his final home stretch to his new home.
