Many people don't even think about benefits when looking for a job.
Years ago, I was a 1099 salesman and my wife worked for MetLife insurance (good benefits), she got laid off due to Obamacare. We were trying to figure it all out, we decided she needed to look for a job that had great benefits (we had three kids under 14 years old?). She ended up getting a job at CSU San Marcos in HR. Full state benefits, pension, and huge discounts for college for our kids. We figure just with this job change we get over $3500 a month more in just benefits that we didn't have before, this includes my kid's college tuition (which is only $1200 a year at any Cal State college). Health Insurance is almost free........crazy what a State employee gets.
I feel sorry for small businesses, there is no easy way to provide for employees.
