Putting the feelers out for a buddy that built a LS swapped jeep Cherokee, its linked and has coil overs, so no off the shelf stuff fits. Who can handle this?

They clear well, but the whole “don’t need gaskets” thing is horseshit. I’m about to rip them off and V band them. The collectors constantly get loose, then warp, then need gaskets, then get loose, then blow out the gaskets. :mad:
 
I had Tom Face do mine. He builds them out of Scotty's Mufflers in San Bernardino. They came out pretty awesome.

So if a shop owner needs help, hires said help, trains said help, invests in said help and sets said help up to work and perform as trained, you should not pay the going rate?

That door, the employee and the time training costs more that you know.

I'm very aware of shop costs.

You shouldn't pay the rate if his work doesn't reflect what the company is known for putting out.

If you get sub par work from a shop that has a great reputation, that should be expected and allowed?

The shop should meet standards that reflect the Labor rates charged.

Example: If you paid $125 to have an amplifier Installed at a Tweeter back in the day, that's because we went through training from the Vendor (how to set gains with an O-scope, checking polarity, etc) and had supplies that other shops didn't to make the install "professional". If my Install bay was doing the same level work as the guys that charge $40 to install the same amp with two zip ties and a drywall screw for a ground lug... and use none of the knowledge provided by the Vendor or the supplies to make it look factory, you should still pay $125?

No.

Just because it's done at shop doesn't mean that individual is doing work to the shop's standards.

A different way of saying it, There quality of work has gone down but not the price ;)
