What are these things bade out of?  I can't believe they still have this much life of them.  These are on gear one 6 piston calipers.  I have owned the car for 6 seasons now.  I have read where some people go through brake pads often, granted I am never really heavy on the brakes... but do use turn brakes for extra fun often.  These came on the car from the original owner, who had the car for 6-7 years before I got it.

Glad you like them, EBC "Green stuff". Not a super aggressive pad but they are our go to choice for sand car application. They have a great "cold bite" meaning they have great performance at the first push of a brake pedal while your rotors and calipers are still cold. A lot of "racing pads" are designed for optimal stopping power at high temperatures meaning you have to warm up the brakes to get them to work. Most people in the dunes never really touch there brakes enough to get them hot.

7 seasons on my @parker@gearonemid board 6 piston calipers with vented rotors.  I'd even say they are original from 2005 when the car was built and sat until 2013 when it was duned a little till I bought it in 2015.  I do a lot of prep jobs and very rarely change brake pads.  The wear usually comes from the cliper not being centered and one side wears faster.  Easily corrected with shims.

as always, great info!

@Punisher goes through a set a season!!!!!!!  He loooooooooves that cutter brake!!!!!   :bangin:

If they are always hot, maybe a different compound would help that.

I think also John from outfront has mentioned he goes through pads often

Coupe of seasons for me if things go well.  Front brakes never.  Rears only.

Same here. Fronts never. In the day I would go through rear pads every three trips. That was 4 piston calipers. Now I have super thick 6 piston pads that go more than a season.
