I have a 2018 Chevy 2500HD gas 4WD, end every time I have serviced it it has been a royal PITA to grease the pitman arm, since the grease zerk is on top and there are a bunch of things in the way. Finally, after five years of cussing I put together a simple "U" adapter that makes it easy to come up  from below it. I don't know why I didn't think of it years ago, but I thought that if anyone else has this truck that they might want to make one too. I think it will also work on the idler arm, which is a PITA too but not as bad as the pitman arm.

The other thing that helps a ton is the LocknLube coupler for the grease gun that someone mentioned on here several months ago (sorry, I can't remember who it was). That was one of the best tips I ever got. They are great, especially for something like this. I put one on a pistol grip grease gun and it is a true one-hand operation, which is super helpful for things like this, needle greasers, etc. I got two of them and put the other one on a "regular" grease gun and it works great for greasing my tractor. It's great to find something that actually works as advertised!Grease adapter.jpg

My Moog idler arm came with an extension.l that screwed I to the fitting and the hose bolted uo to a bolt under the bumper. Pitman arm was pretty easy to access.

Seems to be the week for pitman and idler arms. I took my truck in for an alignment, it needs both arms and lower ball joints.

Get a cognito kit for the pitman/idler arm and you'll never do them again.

On my 06 2500HD went I with Kryptonite because of the lifetime no questions asked warranty. Pitman arm, idler arm and pivot, ball joints and hubs. Only kept the truck for another 10k miles so never used the warranty though. My 2014 3500HD came with Kryptonite pitman and idler. I've put 100k on the truck in 2 years and zero issues so far.

Thanks for the reminder, I have never greased mine.  Might be time
