So I have a habit of saving ride data and share that info with the group we ride with. A lot of the group enjoys seeing where we went on a map after the ride and they try to find "story spots". You know where I did this, you crashed that, this area so so much for or the best scenic spot of the ride.

The other questions come from non-riders/campers who wonder just WTF we do on our vacations. These tracks don't typically help them much but it's fun to "try" and explain especially to the eviro-minded...

Nice to see that someone else here on GD likes Spangler too.

It's gotten real busy the last few years we are venturing away from it now. Been going to Dove-CalCity-Ridgecrest since 2005.
AZ has way less people and trail congestion

I grew up riding all those areas on two wheelers, too many SxS's for me know, just not safe.  There are few of your loops that aren't very crowded, I just go to the mtns now on my two wheeler.  But either way, those are good rides

While I try to stay away from "destinations", it's inevitable that someone is new or missed a ride so we still go to/thru hot spots. I also try to always LOOP ride and only double back on the same trail if I have to for ease of navigation or barn sour riders. Randsburg us the worst and I'll do just about anything to NOT ride thru there.... F that 3hr wait for a milkshake....

Another note on group rides is length is determined by the # of riders and their ability to keep up or slow us down. I'd rather do a 50-80 mile ride with 3-4 guys then three 20 mile rides due to 8-15 riders.

I record tracks in the dez. Our favorite place to go is Lucerne we camp at Cougar Buttes. A lot of “destinations” there oh wait did I just say that?! Awesome ride to Slash X grab a burger and some cold drinks braaaap!

I did the Mojave trail to state line a couple of times when I had my Bronco. We start that run off of Cleghorn Rd at the 15 and cut across through Honda Valley into Hesperia and towards Lucerne and take the tower line to Newberry Springs and into Afton Canyon to camp overnight and hit the rest the next day to state line.
