I haven't sold it yet, but I'm selling my Rhino.

I'm looking to buy a used SXS.  I've decided against RZRs due to their questionable reliability, or at least that is the way I am interpreting them.

I'm now looking at Can-Am and Arctic Cat....although I haven't really ruled anything out.  I'm looking at $5K-$8K, and that may be wishful thinking.  But, I see 3 Wildcats w/in a short drive of me on CL.  They range from $52-8,000.

I want something that will fit my 10.5'x6 trailer (which my Rhino does) and has 50-75 HP....I'm old, I've done it, and am happy going slow.

How good are the Pioneer 700s?   I don't like CVT trans.  These have a more conventional Auto-Trans in them (I think).  Would it be worth it for me to scrape together more money and wait?

If you want something reliable then stay far away from Arctic Cat.

I'd reconsider the Polaris options, but CanAm is probably the best choice otherwise. PARTS is more important then anything in the older used market. Can you get the common service parts and if something more drivetrain or computer related can those be found?

I've never owned a Polaris, but they only have a bad wrap on the interwebs otherwise all the my fiends have had zero issues. The Polaris General would be an awesome replacement for a Rhino.

My fiend got a used CanAm commander and it's been SOLID, better then the rhino in every way.

The Pioneer is way to farm for trail riding conditions, worse then the rhino.

A YXZ would be the preferred option for no belt, but not storage space to speak of.

You'll appreciate that utility bed real fast if you get a sport model of any brand with limited cargo space.

What about the Yamaha Wolverine?   Which is the Rhino replacement.

Polaris issues are over blown just due to numbers of units sold.  I would absolutely stay away from the 2013-2016 canam maverick and the artic cat, too many expensive issues to worry about.  The yxz you can pick up cheap and not abused because the quad guys buy them thinking its badass and soon find out the suspension sucks and shifting is over rated in a sxs.

The Polaris XP100 is a solid car that has tons of aftermarket support.

If you want reliability, buy the Honda. No question.
Both the Pioneer and Talon have a dual clutch transmission, no belt. The Talon is sporty so more $$$$.

The only SxS worth a chit in your budget is a Polaris XP900. I would have no hesitation buying one. Good luck in whatever direction you go.

I will sell ya a YXZ for 10K if ya want one of those

8k is just a few k short of really nice and new machines...save a little more $$.

I agree with HondaJimz that Xp900 will be a Great unit for what ya wanna do

I went from 2007 Polaris Ranger to a 2013 Rzr900XP Jagged X and now a 2018 Can Am X3.  All 3 were top of the line at the time but each jump has been so much better.  YOu cant even compare the old models to the new.  I was never a CanAm fan but now after owning it I am really happy with the build quality.  Spend the money to get the newest model you can afford with the biggest shocks you can find.  Your back will thank you.
