Didn't want to hijack Dbart's Camaro thread, but reading that reminds me of what I'm currently in the middle of:

Dealing with a similar situation with my 2000 RV. Beginning of November, I took it to dealer for a bunch of maintenance and alignment.

To save some money, I took it to a small family-run shop down the street for 4 new airbags and a diesel leak while generator is running. Picked it up and didn't even leave the parking lot as one side didn't inflate. Very apologetic, they fixed that next day and I took it a mile home. Ran the generator at home and NO LEAK! but... it died after 5 minutes and wouldn't restart.

Took it back and again, very apologetic, they had installed the generator feed and return lines backwards. Buttoned everything up, then fixed 2 more leaks that were just starting. I completely understand, having to drop the diesel tank 3 times now, there are 24 year-old lines and fittings that can start to leak when disturbed. Didn't charge me anything for those. When taking it home, I realized the steering wheel is very far off and the fuel gauge shows full. (was half tank when I initially brought it in)

I texted him when I got home just to make him aware. They have been extremely pleasant to work with through out all of this. Very communicative and have bent over backwards since having to return twice after the initial $5000 repair. For the sake of time and upcoming dune trips, I said I'd bring it back after New Years to have the steering wheel and fuel gauge issues looked at. Part of me feels bad as they have spent so many extra hours on it after bringing it back twice and haven't charged me anything. But, in reality, the steering wheel was straight and the fuel gauge was working when I brought it in.

In my opinion, the difference between a good repair shop and not, are how they handle these kinds of situations. Mistakes happen. On top of that, I work everyday during their business hours. He stays late over an hour to allow me to pickup/drop off.

Balance between Customer Service and Technical Ability. Almost anything will eventually get fixed by a decent shop, as long as the accommodations being made are in your favor...I see no issue. They appear to be making things right, as they can when stuff pops up. As you said, older rig will have stuff happen when items get moved around, simply because of age.
