I was thinking about getting some sort of golf net or cheap simulator to get some swings in while at home. I want to hit real golf balls not foam ones. I don't have big open space or room so I was curious if anyone else has tried to make a practice area at home?

I’m looking myself Punchdrunk whenever I get a house one of these days, that’s the first piece of furniture that will go in…Foresight Sports has something like this.

you can always make a net yourself with some PVC, and get a simulator separately.  Or just a net without simulator….but simulator is pretty cool. IMG_7749.jpeg

Let me know when you pick one, I would love to meet up and give it a try.  It’s the perfect set up to keep the swing lubed.  👍🏌🏾‍♂️

I picked up a used setup. Well, I will pick it up today. Pretty entry level but should be good enough to get a few swings in each day. I was going to just get a net to hit into. But really what is that going to do, other than I get to swing. I could imaging getting bad habits by just swinging and not really knowing whats going on. I found a guy selling a net, mat and Optishot2. I have done a little research on the Opitshot and it is entry level but it should work for what I want to do.

I'll give you an update once it is running.

I've got a net. Works great. Guaranteed to catch your shanks. Peace

I have a net and it works good except for the time i hit the ball far right it cleared the net and went over my roof into the neighbors yard somewhere lol.

I cant even imagine swinging a club inside the house.  Hell even without a ball Im sure Id break something.  LOL.

HAHAHA yeah we will see. So the guy I bought it from had it setup in his garage. He hit the foam balls. I told him I would rather hit real golf balls, so it has a better feel. So he said, "let try it and see how it works". Smacks the first ball............and hole in the drywall. LOL

He didn't account for how much give there was in the net. With the weight and speed of a real golf ball it hit the wall behind the net. I'll use the foam balls for now until I get a better net.

I built a simulator about 6 months ago and love having it! I used a Skytrak and also have TGC19 software that has 1000’s of course to play. Screen is 9x12.

Skytrack seems very nice. If I had the room to build a proper simulator I would of looked into that model. How much room did you need for your setup? Where do you live?

All in, the area is about 12x15 and  I have a steel building shop at my house and it’s in the corner. I am in Fallbrook.

I used to do insurance work.  I would go out an examine sites looking for unsafe stuff.  In the Vail area I did a few sites.  The last one was a "house" (actually a 2nd or 3rd house) w/4 floors, like 10 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, 4 boilers (2 for the house(in floor heat), 1 for the decks and one for the driveway).  It had a movie room, which was a small theatre AND a golf simulator....which was in a room that was quite large.

@ChEFF I am going down the rabbit hole. I am already tired of the Optshot and I want to build a better simulator, more like @Dzrtrat1111. I only went a step up on the launch monitor. I bought a Garmin R10. I ordered the white hitting screen and side curtains. I don't know crap about projectors so I am researching that now.

My delemia is that I am doing this in the garage and I need it all to be able to fold up and put away easly so momma can still get the Bronco in the garage.

I'll keep you posted.......
