I'm new to the full size clutch/ Chevy Bell Housing game. What starter is everyone using?

Thanks Jeff

I use the Mezeire every time. They spin a lot faster and it helps with E85 starts. I have also gotten my car back to camp with just the starter before. Killed my battery but we didn’t have to tow it the last 100 yards.

Couple reasons why i use IMI,

You can custom build the starter anyway,  they start for a full size bellhousing as a IMI-140  all the starters can be clocked so you can roll the motor up and down for frame clearance or make it upside down to remove the crank sensor and plug with ease.

you can make it into a ultra high torque, most are a 1.6K, you can go up to a 3k when using a converted Cummins starter,  not that you need one, but they will do it,

Cranking speed,  they have the M series, this stands for Mazda Rotary, the gear is twice the size to rotate the motor over twice to three times as fast,

Most use a IMI-140N   this is the standard 2K,  this has enough power to ride the starter into a trailer if need be,

Also IMI starter off building starters for Sand Cars and has always supported the market.  Chris the owner and his father still work at the shop every day.  they are great people to deal with,
