Current GEN4 has the standard dash and this green light (with yellow wire ) isn’t wired in - can’t remember what it’s for and where it hooks up

anybody remember?

Was part of the alternator resistor and needed for the charging circuit.

Ok it wasn’t hooked up on car when I got it

Where does it connect

The way the warning light works is that it has battery voltage on one side and the other side goes to the regulator or D+ terminal on an alternator with internal regulator.

When the voltage on the alternator side of the light is lower than battery voltage, the light comes on. (or vice versa). When the voltage is the same on both sides of the light, the light goes out.
