Is a 8.5 gallon tank enough for a light 2 seat with a 3.5 N/A? Longest ride I could see taking in the car would be from Gordon's to the drags at Glamis and back.

I'd imagine the car (which will prob weight 1400ish pounds) will get 18ish MPG on average?

Ideally, I'd want a 12-gallon tank, but room for that size might be an issue.

I had a 10 gallon tank in mine, did pretty good, on some long runs I would come back on fumes... 18 mpg is not going to happen, I never clocked mine but it was nowhere close.
I ended up building a new 19 gallon tank and that was awesome

That run is rarely made at 1/4 throttle 4 th gear.
So many sections where it wants to eat and you have a clear path to put the skinny pedal to the floor.

Imo it's not impossible and with the intent to make the round trip with no deviation it should be fine.

YMMV

Unless LD is commenting specifically about a NA J powered car, I'd wait for those guys specifically.

A NA J motor, a turbo poobie, and a LS are are all way different with regards to fuel consumption.

I'm not saying the J is a miser on fuel. When they came out in the Odyssey in '99, I would have dads bringing in mom's soccer bus weekly bitching about the fuel economy and tire wear. 12~mpg, 10k on a set of tires.

Turns out, when mom is running late, has to hit starbucks before practice, the new found power of mom bus express will burn some fuel and fry a tire...

The car was a sand limo squirt+ with a j35A4 and a 2D. The engine was mostly stock with injectors, and a larger throttle body. And a Electromotive ECU.
I did drive it heavy on the skinny peddle alot tho....

8.5 gallons and 18mpg? there is NO WAY.

hell my proR gets like 5 or 6 MPG.

you would be lucky to get 9 unless you drive like the oldest of old ladys......and whats the fun in that?

used to have a 2300cc ACVW...efi not carb, in a SU ultra lite and that had about a 13 gallon tank. long rides and you were coming back on fumes.
