As I pulled into the West side of the dunes on Christmas day, my regular spots were packed with campers. So instead of fighting the situation, I head to the washes, it had been 10 years since my last wash camping experience. So cruising down wash road, first I look at wash 10, almost the entire area is coned off, no big deal. Then head to the old stomping ground of GD.com 13.5, again entire area coned off. I end up in Wash 15, only a few campers, so I set up camp. Got enough room for our group that will come in over the next few days.

Low and behold, I am sitting in the chair and this camper pulls in with a Kawa H2 on the trailer, I say to myself that could be Sand Shark (it was). I was like, cool and another GD.com by us. I didn't get a chance to cruise over and say hi until the next day. Car is legit and looks amazing. The next day, another camp pulls in, and again another GD.com as well, Duneflyer. Pat thanks for the cocktail, nice to catch up.

But as the week approaches NYE, we all know more people will show up. I am all good with that, I am leaving on the 31st. What I found interesting, people lose sight of space and start camping closer to other camps. On the 30th, this group is looking for a spot, most of our group is leaving in the morning, so I talk to him and move a few vehicles to give them some room. So I go to bed, wake up at 2am, look out the window. Their firewood is in front of my motorhome, they pretty much camped 20 feet from me. I get it, if this was gecko, but there was room elsewhere. Music going, playing beer pong having a great old time. Mind you, I was being nice and this was over the top, zero respect. When I woke up in the morning, they also had blocked all access for other campers to get to and from their camps to wash road, people are dumb. As I go to leave, only had to back up my rig twice to clear their wood pile.

A couple of good things, with how much water in the ground no dust. I heard zero Mariachi music, for the most part I heard zero loud music. Fireworks as well were done early in the night, pretty quiet past 10pm. It was a good experience. I also got really good getting to Brawley slide thru the small dunes.

Being that the big dunes were further way, I did burn more E85 than normal. Figure every ride was about 7 miles longer.

All in all, it was a great trip and would do the Washes in the future again.

It was nice meeting you.

Wash 15 was great as far as camp space for most of the week. I saw a camp moved in right on top of that kiddie track between my camp and yours. Up until the 30th the spacing was pretty good between the camps and it was so nice and quiet in the Wash. One of the mornings it was so quiet I waited until 9 to fire up the generator as I did not want to wake up anyone. LOL!

This was the quietest the washes have been in a long time. Never heard any loud music going at all hours. It seemed to be done by midnight. Even on New Years the washes were pretty quiet after the fireworks.

Next time I am going to force you to go for a test ride in the H2 and let you experience SXS life.

That’s the thing these days people will park right on top of each other blocking you in and don’t give two shits about it. Of course they will tell you yeh bro we’ll move for you to get out. Then when it comes to it the guy ain’t there or it’s we’re all set up can’t take camp to move.

I went a few years ago and camped along 1.5 I was about 15 ft from the pavement parallel. Wake up I got a guy backed in on my rear and another parked along side me against the road. I told him the next morning before he unloaded and set up I will be leaving tomorrow and he was able to move some.they ended up being cool but come on. It was an off weekend too.

Great to see ya and have a chance to chat for a bit Alex. Without the rain the washes can be a different experience.

In wash 16. Guy comes in on Sat parks right on our cones comes over introduced himself was super nice says his group is cool and moves 6 feet back from our cones.
His group starts showing up Monday and completely blocks access to our circle. As they are blocking the circle I very politely ask if it’s possible to leave room for our group to get in. Guy replies NO. Your people should have got here sooner. I say wow nice attitude thanks for being so rude.
He says F you and your friends. I replied thanks again asshole. He proceeded to follow me back to camp asking me to clarify what I said. I ignore him and tell him not to follow me.
Next day they move our cones and park partially inn our camp.
Un F’ing believable.
These mariachi people really piss me off
Rant over🤬

Wtf was the point of your post ?. Or do people like you just have to share your inconsequential and meaning less post for someone to give a sht for data set ?.
Next time ? Maybe the real glamis. No place to camp, idiots as far as the eye can see, dust and sand everywhere and plenty of complaints. Other than that. A most excellent place to go. Especially since the Rangers budget is in the red and there's almost no real law enforcement anymore. 😆

Lol. I see you still think you and your cronimites think you own the dunes. Nice try. Not even close. But WTF have a great New Year telling everyone that glamis is a family oriented atmosphere.
