Feeling old part 2

1983 was my first introduction to them

87ish... Saw them in 1988, @ the sports arena. Was only 14 at the time..

fun fact, in probably 1984 ish I had a speech class probably 10th grade at a private catholic high school. We were told to pick a poem that "meant" something to you.

Well I was the only kid in the school with long hair, in a dress shirt button down daily with my concert shirts always underneath. At this time most the kids at these schools were trouble kids lol. We were some party animals on the brink of crossing the line so my whole class was pretty much those type kids.

The "poem" I picked was titled..............Run to the hills, so I listened to that song 100 times, wrote down all the lyrics and that was my speech. Got an A and only a handful of my posse knew the poem lmmfao.

Weren't the 80's great? I'd literally give everything I have to go back and live in 1983-86, god those were the days!

Funny was going through a old box the other day and found these. Just a small fraction of the shows I went to.

Multiple shows of those band. Plus

Scorps, priest, Ozzy , Black Sabbath

VH,  US Festival, Summer Strut, monster of rock, multiple oz fest , knott fest so many more, great times!

The Iron Maiden was the recording of live after death live show.

Summer of 81 my High School ( Helix) went to England for a marching band thing. Not sure what it was I didn't go. Who did was a guy Ruben Ramos who sat in front of me in math class.  He was not only in the marching band but was the bass player in the schools kegger party band ( Outrage) .  One day we get to talking about music. I let him know my two favorites at that time were Judas Priest and Rush.  The next day he comes into class and hands me his copy of Killers he had found that summer in England.  At that point I do not think anybody had even seen an Iron Maiden record. I know I hadn't.  Took that record home dropped the needle on side 1 song 1 and was hooked for about four years solid.

For me it's

Killers

Piece of Mind

Powerslave

Self Tittled

Number of the Beast

Somewhere in Time

Lost interest

We had Live After Death on repeat in 85.  "Long Beach effed up my hearing"

I live in the house that the Ratt brothers grew up in! Not much left of the house but their names are still scrawled in the concrete sidewalks out front. Rick and Tom, the brothers not Juan Croucier, used to come by the house as we were remodeling it and we used to see them at the Armed Forces Day Parade. Pretty sure they had some good times in the pool! lol
