I'm kicking around the idea of setting up a travel trailer for work purposes to avoid all the freaking traffic on certain days. I would probably only sleep in it 2-3 days a week. I thought I would ask here first if anyone knew of any places that allow long-term use that usually have availabilities and don't cost as much as a two-bedroom apartment?

Not seeing a lot of choices in these areas. Any leads or referrals are appreciated!

Motorhomeless route?

I gave it some thought. Lol

I really feel sorry for people that are looking for places to rent in California. I thought San Diego was bad, Orange County is even worse. I gave up even looking, I just want to get somewhere away from San Diego to rest my head on those long days. My daughter lives in Temecula so I figured I'd park it around her.

What's crazy to me is the traffic isn't all that bad once I get out of San Diego. The 52 is absolutely killing me in the morning. It's half my travel time. I remember a day when traffic coming out of East county was non-existent.

What time are you leaving? I’m out the door by 0600 at the latest, no worries about traffic unless someone runs out of talent

If I leave the house at about 5:50 I can get up to Anaheim in an hour and 20 minutes. If I leave anytime after 6:00 it takes me over 2 hours, sometimes 3.

If I don't leave orange by 2:30 it's nothing but Effery... Again, Orange county isn't the problem though.

The other day I left Anaheim at 3:30 and didn't get home until 7:00. Chit was backed up close to Del Mar allll the way to Santee..

But, the beach..but the weather...lol  I would murder m'fers if I had to deal with that.

If I leave my house by X:whatevero'clock, I'm at work 7 minutes later.  Same for the trip home.  Unless I stop to grab a 12'ver..

I recently got a new puppy that I run home at lunch to let out and feed.  She gets 45 minutes to play and eat on my 1 hour lunch break.

YMMV.

I should bring my old moho out to CA and donate to your homeless folks. Better yet.......I'll take it to a DEER LEASE somewhere in TX. It'll get treated better. "Send her out to pasture and Retire." Peace

Murrieta to Buena park and back every day  the GPS says the same thing  1:30 to 2 hours each way but on my bike its always under an hour!

if i have to bring my truck in for some reason i have to leave home at 4:30am and dont even try to go home until 7:30 pm!

Keep a bag packed. If you know its going to be a bad day grab a cheap hotel close to work. Even plan on that maybe 1 day a week just to give you a break.

Kind of answers the question of why so many people are leaving the state. I couldn't survive in that, used to take me 45 minuets to get to work or home, on my bicycle.

Yeah, that north county commute is BRUTAL.

I only have to go to Balboa/15 area. 20-30 minutes from there (major industrial area for the non-SD folks) to my house in the sticks unless I try to leave work at 4pm, then 45-ish.

That's what I've been kind of doing but it adds up quickly. Rather just slum it in my RV..

For the life of me, everyone says they are leaving and the traffic is still getting worse.........and we have a housing crisis.

In 2001, I was in SD going to LA a couple times a week for work, I moved closer to help.  Of course, a lot of the traffic followed me.
