EPS fuse size

Don’t forget to run at least 8awg, 6 preferred for some overhead.

I ended up buying this as I wanted brand new wires as I am rewiring the whole car. They also recommended an 80amp breaker to go with it.

8awg isn’t enough for 80a of load.

According to this video the amp draw is way less. I am going to use a lower rated breaker. I am thinking around 50Amp. Looks like it hits close to 40amps at full lock which I think I am very rarely at.

Chassis ampacity is slightly more forgiving because they know you're only running it a dozen feet or so:

Although, it's enough if the run is 4' or less based on resistance calcs. Marginal, but enough. Things will be warm.
Well... I was assuming that 80a was not a real world situation the entire ride and as we say in the Audio Industry... "When Lightning Strikes"... so my chart was adequate. 🤣

Yeah. With audio you're trying to avoid ANY voltage drop whenever possible since that screws with sound quality.

With an electric motor, voltage drop is the name of the game, it just gets hotter for a split second. Either way, I wouldn't put an 80A fuse on 6AWG connections and terminals. Too close to marginal.

I was agreeing with you in that my chart showed (without showing it) that 4AWG was the preferred size (minimum) in the 80 amp arena... I just didn't spell it out clearly.

55 amps being the max for 6AWG.

But yes... your chart is far more detailed and accurate.
