I am looking to see who can do an engine swap in my 1989 Isuzu mini truck. I am open to LS, K24, JSeries what ever will run great and show great and must be automatic. I know all of us sand people must know a guy. My regular guy is booked for 2 years and I don't want to use a FB marketplace with my truck. Let me know. I will post photos of the truck later.

I don’t have a recommendation for you but love your truck. It brings back tons of great memories of the early 90s showing my 87 Toyota. It was no where near your caliber, but still lots of fun.👍

I have been feeling the urge to build an old school mini. Love your truck and hope you find someone for the swap. Keep us updated on the progress.

I saw an old datsun p/u with one of these put in it, a couple of months ago.  the intake seemed super weird to me.  Like maybe it was for a FWD car. do they make a different intake for this motor?  FWIW this was mated to a 5 speed stick trans.

Nissan KA24DE from a 90s 240SX.  Iron block, 150-ish horsepower.  Typical 90s Japanese crazy overbuilt everything.

It is possible but we would need to see more of the truck. Looks like a lot of hydraulics on that and how much room is there to get a motor and larger late model transmission in the truck.
The truck is on air ride suspension, The bed is a 4 stage hydraulic bed. The engine is really large and hangs low.

If the engine bay looks like the rest of it, you'll be hard pressed to find someone to take on this job.  If it was a fresh build (no paint to F up), a guy might be interested.
