El Cajon Car show (Cackle Fest)

Some of the SD folks know that El Cajon does a pretty bitchen car show every wed night (April to October).  next Wed (27 Sept), they are doing their version of Cackle Fest (“Thunder on Main Street”).  if you have never seen nitro cars, its pretty bitchen. I've never been to their show, so I don’t know exactly what to expect, but if its anything like other “cackle fest” kind of shows, its super fun to watch.

the show is technically from 5 to 730, but lots of folks are there @ 4. 




There are lots of food choices there if you want to get something to eat after walking around.

I’ve been to this a couple times. At the end of the car show they fire up the cars one at a time and push them down the street. It’s super loud as the sound is bouncing off the buildings. Fun to see the people who have never been to the drag races jump when they fire up the first one

@CAN AM MIKE that is hilarious to me. 

Years ago, I took my boys to the winternationals. I picked a spot about 300 - 350' down track so they were pretty much @ full bogie by the time they go to us.  I told my boys that when those nitro cars came by "the whole damn place will shake.  the bleachers, the concrete, their chests, all of it".  they both rolled their eyes @ me & said "yea dad, OK".  the look on both of their faces when the first pair went down was AWESOME!!!!  I am pretty sure Ive never received an "your right dad" from both of them except for this one time.  LMAO.  

@ the same race, we were in the pits watching a FC getting ready to light off the motor after round maint.  they wanted to stand right up against the rope & watch them light it off.  I grabbed them both by the collar & drug them back most of the way across the pit road.  they both were PISSED, & I told them "Just wait, I promise you will have a front row view in 3, 2, 1..........".  it cracked me up when all of the folks right up front were running for the hills because their eyes & ears were killing them.  Again........ dad kinda knew what he was talking about.  LOL.   And watching the entire crow jump in unison when they crack the throttle is something to see.  LOL.
